The job
General haulage with curtainside trailers to distribution centres and stores; collections from stores back to DCs; occasional store deliveries including loading and unloading cages; trunking where available; vehicle checks, documentation, and compliance with drivers' hours, WTD and tacho rules.
Hours and working pattern
- Full-time permanent. Shift patterns Thursday–Monday or Wednesday–Sunday. Starts usually between 11:00 and 15:00.
Pay and benefits
Mon–Fri days £15.15/hr; Saturday and Sunday day £18.15/hr; bank holidays £18.96/hr; plus £5 tax-free meal allowance per shift
Hourly rates vary by day of week. On top of the hourly rate you get a £5 tax-free meal allowance per shift.

What you’ll need
- Valid C+E licence
- Current valid DCPC and tacho cards
- No more than 6 points and no DD/DR code convictions
- Understand and comply with drivers' hours and WTD legislation
- Able to complete vehicle checks and report defects
- Comply with on-site health and safety
- Excellent communication skills
