The job
Trunk drivers complete trunking deliveries between DHL and customer locations, vehicle checks, defect reporting and transport paperwork. Shunters move trailers around site, position them on loading bays, support warehouse and transport operations, and carry out vehicle and trailer safety checks.
Hours and working pattern
- Day and night shifts. Patterns include Monday to Friday, 4 on 4 off, and ad hoc. Day rate applies to starts before 12:00
- night rate to starts after 12:00.
Pay and benefits
Mon–Fri days £15.27/hr; Mon–Fri nights £16.38/hr; Saturday all hours £19.00/hr; Sunday and bank holidays all hours £23.00/hr (PAYE)
Rate is based on shift start time. Weekly pay. Ongoing work with a leading logistics provider.

What you’ll need
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence
- Valid Driver CPC and digital tachograph card
- Good understanding of driver compliance and road safety
- Reliable and flexible approach
- Previous shunting experience beneficial for shunter roles but not essential
