The job
Permanent Class 1 work with Fowler Welch from Poole, running refrigerated artics between RDCs, farms and packhouses. Fowler Welch says experience is welcome but not essential and invites newly qualified drivers to apply.
Drive refrigerated articulated vehicles, delivering and collecting chilled stock from local and regional distribution centres, farms and packhouses across the UK. Daily vehicle and temperature checks, tachograph compliance, paperwork and signed PODs back to the transport office.
Hours and working pattern
- 4 on 4 off days (1pm start)
- Thursday–Saturday days (10am start)
- 4 on 4 off nights (10pm start)
- 3-hour start windows depending on volume
- Minimum 10 hours paid per shift
Pay and benefits
Mon–Fri days £16.91/hr · Mon–Fri nights £20.29/hr · Sat days £19.45/hr · Sat nights £21.14/hr · Sun & bank holiday days £20.29/hr · Sun & bank holiday nights £21.98/hr
Paid for the hours you work, with a minimum of 10 hours per shift. Overtime after 10 hours.

What you’ll need
- Category C+E / Class 1
- Current Driver CPC
- Knowledge of drivers' hours rules
- Able to attend a driving assessment at the Hilsea, Portsmouth depot
